The Sword Z. The Sword Z

The Sword Z is a legendary sword embedded in a rock on the Kaioshin planet. During the Majin Buu arc, it was extracted by Son Gohan and used by him during his training. The young man demonstrated remarkable skill in using it, despite its weight, until, to test its hardness, he attempted to cut a block of katchin with it, described by the East Kaioshin as the hardest metal in the universe, causing the sword to break. This breach revealed the Elder Kaioshin, the Kaioshin from 15 generations prior, who had been imprisoned in the sword millions of years before the narrative by a powerful creature, the God of Destruction Beerus. Beerus had imprisoned the Kaioshin in the sword after beating him in a duel following a squabble between the Gods of Creation and the Gods of Destruction. As Gohan indirectly stated, the concept of the Z-Sword is based on the legend of the Sword in the Stone.

In Future Trunks' timeline, however, it is Trunks himself who manages to draw the sword from the stone, and the sword is later destroyed during Trunks' battle with Dabura.
